To demonstrate excellence in their approach to valuing diversity and implementing equality of opportunity.
To be responsible for overseeing and reviewing outcomes against the Authority and Force’s Equality Schemes and related Action Plans and provide a report (by exception) to the Human Resources Committee on a quarterly basis.
To maintain and develop equality and diversity skills and competences through attendance at training events and reflecting on ‘lessons learned’.
To keep up-to-date with new developments across the nine protected characteristics of equality and diversity.
To maintain contact with the Authority’s Equality and Diversity Officer and the Force’s Equality and Diversity Officer.
To engage with diverse groups within the local community and attend local community events as required.
