The Authority reviewed the Force's performance in 2010/11 at the Finance and Performance Committee on 27 April 2011.
Headline Performance Figures
The headline performance figures for Lincolnshire Police during 2010/11 are:
SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS
- Incidents that cause fear and concern (751 fewer incidents, down 6.4%)
- Other Anti-social behaviour incidents (860 fewer incidents, down 3.1%)
- Criminal damage (1,641 fewer incidents, down 14.9%)
- Burglary dwelling sanction detection (stretch target met, continued improvement through the year)
- Serious Acquisitive Crime sanction detection (continued improvement through the year)
- Theft from Vehicle crime (66 fewer crimes, down 2.4%)
- Theft of vehicle crime (92 fewer crimes, down 8.5%)
PROTECTING THE PUBLIC
- Assault with Injury (331 fewer crimes, down 9%)
SERVICE IMPROVEMENT
- Non-emergency call handling (target met, rate better than last year).
British Crime Survey Results
The Authority also reviewed the 'British Crime survey' results. The Home Office released the latest ‘British Crime Survey’ results on 20 April 2011. There are two parts of the BCS:
a) National recorded crime figures and
b) Perception of crime and anti-social behaviour figures.
The latest figures cover the 12 month period ending December 2010. The highlights are:
- Lincolnshire Police has seen a 9% reduction in crime recorded, which exceeds the national average (-6%).
- Criminal damage offences are down 20% in Lincolnshire, compared to the national average of -17%.
- 8% of respondents reported a ‘high level of perceived anti-social behaviour’ compared to the national average of 14%. Statistically significant difference from England and Wales.
- 14% of respondents perceive people using or dealing drugs to be a fairly or very big problem in their local area. The national average was 26%. Statistically significant difference from England and Wales.
- 16% of respondents who perceive people being drunk or rowdy in public places to be a fairly or very big problem in their local area. The national average was 24%. Statistically significant difference from England and Wales.
