LISTENING TO YOU
Introduction
The Authority has regard to the community's views when setting policing priorities.
It aims to encourage understanding and co-operation between the community and the Force.
Above all, it exists to help the community and the police make Lincolnshire safer.
Police and Community Forums
The potential value of community consultation emerged from Lord Scarman's Inquiry into inner city disturbances in the early 1980's.
Section 106 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (now repealed by Section 96 of the Police Act 1996) stated that arrangements shall be made in each police area for obtaining the views of local people about matters concerning local policing and to obtain their co-operation in the prevention of crime.
As a result of the Act, the Authority established Police and Community Forums, which exist today and there are presently 7 Forums throughout Lincolnshire that meet on a quarterly basis within each of the district council areas.
Have your say in the policing of your local community by coming along to one of the Forum meetings in your area.

Rural Policing Forum
Agriculture is a major employer and business activity in Lincolnshire. Local farmers and horticulturists have particular concerns and fear of crime specific to the agricultural community.
In October 2001, the Authority formed a new, non-geographically based policing forum specifically for representatives of farming and rural interests.
At the present time, the forum meets twice a year at Police Headquarters, although it is intended to move meetings out to venues in main county towns.
Forums are attended by members of the farming community and representatives of organisations such as the Lincolnshire branch of the National Farmers Union, County Landowners Association, Tenant Farmers Union, FarmWatch and the British Association for Conservation and Shooting.
