1. Complaints:
   
   To maintain an overview of and monitor:
   
   
   1. complaints against police officers and support staff.
      
      
   2. the operation of any code relating to the Public Interest Disclosure Act.
      
      
   3. complaints to the Local Government Ombudsman and investigations.
      
      
2. Human Rights and Legal Compliance:
   
   
   1. maintaining an overview of measures to ensure due respect for human rights and compliance with the law within the Force and Authority.
      
      
3. Custody Visiting:
   
   
   1. overseeing the maintenance and operation of an efficient and effective scheme for the independent inspection of custody facilities and the welfare of detained persons.
