Dr Brian Wookey
Dr Brian Wookey was appointed as an independent member of Lincolnshire Police Authority in April 2007. He was a General Practitioner in Boston for many years until retirement in 2002, and also has wide experience of the management of the NHS. He was Chairman of East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust from 2002 to 2006.
Dr Wookey is Chairman of the Police Authority’s Audit, Risk, and Governance Committee, which is responsible for ensuring that the planning and management of the police service for the public in the county is of high quality. The Committee carries out regular scrutinies of the provision of police services, and the results and recommendations are published on the Police Authority web site. Dr Wookey also sits on the Human Resources Committee [with a special interest in occupational health matters], and the Ethical Standards Committee. He represents the Police Authority on Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, and East Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership.
