Frederick Mann JP
Mr Mann was appointed to the Police Authority in October 2008 as an independent member. In October 2009 he became Chairman of the Human Recourses Committee. Married with grown up children, he has lived in Little Humby near Grantham since 2003 and prior to that lived in Thurlby near Bourne.
Mr Mann retired in 2007 after a career in education spending his last twenty years as Head of a large Cambridgeshire Comprehensive School and Community Centre. He has served as a magistrate in Lincolnshire for twelve years and since 2007 been a member of Lincolnshire Probation Board. He also acts as Vice Chairman of South Kesteven District Councils Standards Committee. He continues his interest in education as a Church Governor of Ropsley Primary School.
Within the Authority, Mr Mann’s special interests are in human resources, training and development, force scrutiny and conduct and capability issues. He also has a special responsibility for the Authorities responsibilities in terms of “Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults”. In addition to Human Resources he sits on the Strategic Planning Committee, Professional Standards Committee and the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee. Since 2009 he has acted as an assessor for senior police officers under the auspices of the National Police Improvement Agency.
