Position: Research and Performance Officer

My Role

The purpose of the role is to support Police Authority Members in delivering their duties (making sure that local people have an efficient and effective police force). The job involves the co-ordination of a number of functions including: 

  • carrying out in-depth reviews and scrutinies of particular aspects of service within the police force,
  • providing performance information to assist the Authority in monitoring what the police do and how well they perform against objectives,
  • co-ordinating the Authority’s risk management process,
  • carrying out research and supporting the Authority’s planning process
  • helping the Authority with their equalities and diversity duties and
    supporting ‘Every Child Matters’ – the national programme to improve outcomes for all children and young people.

About Me

After finishing her degree, Ginny went on to gain Chartered status with the Institute of Library and Information Professionals. She joined the Authority’s Secretariat in early 2007 after spending much of her career as a researcher/information advisor in a variety of sectors including local authorities, education, the NHS, private sector and youth services. More recently Ginny completed the post-graduate Diploma in Management and has professional interests in knowledge management, user needs analysis and evidence based service development.
